Your Big Audition

by Shoshana on January 24, 2013

Yes, It’s finally the moment you’ve been waiting for– YOUR BIG AUDITION!

Listen To Your Mother is a brilliant show.  World Cafe Live at the Queen is a dream venue.  Jess, Jenn, and I are a spectacular team, but the most important element of the show is YOU.

So, we are calling all mothers, daughters, sons, grandmothers, orphans, never-gonna-be-mothers, motherhood-dreamers, motherhood-dreaders, anyone with a story. If you think you don’t have a story inside you, you are wrong. It’s there– waiting to be told.

Auditions are by appointment on Saturday, March 9 and Sunday March 10 between 2 and 7 at Film Brothers, one block from The Queen.

If you want to audition, send an email to LTYMDE@gmail.com with your name, your contact information, and your prefered audition date and time (afternoon or evening).

All audition appointments must be made by MARCH 1!

Dear Shosh,

I’m beyond excited about Listen To Your Mother. I would like to make an audition appointment. My contact information and preferences are below.  Thank you for your time and consideration.

May 9

Afternoon

Please note, we do not accept submissions before the auditions.

What are we looking for? I believe Ann Imig says it best. However, your piece should be five to seven minutes in length, and it must be about Motherhood!  The best part? You don’t need to memorize it!

So, take a deep breath, dig deep, and bring us yourself!

Still feel the desire to breath into a bag and hide in your room? Check out last year’s shows.

Still feeling scared? Go to your bathroom mirror, look yourself in the eyes, and tell yourself the truth– “You know you want to be on stage at the Queen.”

Sounds like fun! Are these original pieces by the performers or are they reading from a script?
