A good story must have the right amount of context and detail. Too little and the story feels hollow, too much and the truth is lost in a haze of words.
A good story allows us to look at the world through a different lens while drawing us together and reminding us that we have more in common than we think.
A good story has the power to make us laugh and cry, sometimes at the same time.
Everyone loves a good story and we are ready to hear yours.
The 2013 Listen To Your Mother Show in the Twin Cities has a time and a place – now we need your stories.
All submissions should center around motherhood and be able to be read in 3 to 5 minutes.
If you have a story, send it to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and do the following:
1. Put the title of the piece and your name in the subject line of the email.
2. Attach the submission as a Word document with the title of the piece and your name on the first page.
We will be accepting submissions from now through February 15, 2013.
After that, we’ll take some time to read and sit with your stories before deciding who to contact for auditions.
Please note that auditions will be held on March 2, 2013 and March 9, 2013 (if needed) and the date of the show is May 9, 2013.
This is the part we have been waiting for – the words! So send them our way!
