- Who do we want?
Are you a mother? We want you. Do you have a mother? We want you. Do you have a story about motherhood? We want you.
Are you a writer? A blogger? A poet? A teacher? A preacher? A baker? We want you.
Are you a man? A woman? A teen? We want you.
Can you make us laugh? Cry? Sigh? Think? Ponder? Question? Giggle? We want you.
If you have an original story about motherhood, we want you.
- What are we looking for?
We’re looking for original stories about motherhood. The stories need to be about five minutes long when read aloud.(Five minutes equals roughly 800 – 1,000 words.) Go ahead. Lock the bathroom door and read to the mirror.
We won’t tell.
- What’s next?
After submitting your written piece to our email address, we’ll narrow down the stories that work best for our show and invite you to our live auditions. If you’re not selected for a live audition, it doesn’t mean we don’t love your story. And, if you’re selected for our live audition, it doesn’t mean you’ll make the show.
This will be the time that we wish we could produce a fifteen-hour show.
- And then?
When our readers have been selected, we’ll have a read-through/cast meeting on the afternoon of Sunday, April 28 in Oklahoma City.
The very next week, Sunday, May 5 at 2:00 at the Will Rogers Theater in Oklahoma City, we’ll present the inaugural readings of Listen To Your Mother-Oklahoma City.
This. This will be SO cool, y’all!
- So …

We can’t wait to read your stories.
