When and where will LTYM DC take place?
LTYM DC took place on April 28, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Synetic Theater in Crystal City, VA. The show date for 2014 will be set at the end of this year.

How do I sign up for an LTYM DC audition?

How do I buy a ticket for the LTYM DC show, and how much do they cost?
Tickets for the 2013 show cost $20. As soon as ticket sales open for 2014, all information will be available on this website.

What is LTYM?
LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER features live readings by local writers on the beauty, the beast, and the barely-rested of motherhood, in celebration of Mother’s Day.

Born of the creative work of mothers who publish on-line, each production is directed, produced, and performed by local communities, for local communities.

Do I have to be a mother to participate?
NO. Write about your mother, write about a grandparent or another person who raised you. Write about your desire or difficulties becoming a mother. Write about single-fatherhood. Whatever you write, as long as it’s your authentic story and a tribute to mothering, it should be appropriate for auditions.

Do I have to be a professional actor or writer?
Absolutely not. Everyone has a story, and LTYM wants to hear yours.  

Is LTYM an open mic?
No. Each LTYM is audition, directed, produced, and rehearsed with professional production values, creatinging a well-crafted and memorable theatrical experience.

How can I read in an LTYM production?
 LTYM 2013 productions will take place in 24 cities. For more information, visit the individual city pages.

What is “LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER: Salon”?
LTYM Salon is a scaled-down, informal, “unplugged” version of LTYM. Creative Alliance, a gathering of highly-motivated online women hosted the first Mom Salon in Ojai, CA in 2010, and BlogHer co-hosted an Open Mic Salon at BlogHer’11 in San Diego, then again at BlogHer’12 in New York City.

Can I host an LTYM production in my area in 2014?

What are LTYM’s causes?
10% of all LTYM ticket proceeds benefit non-profit charitable organizations. Click the “causes” under the “about” tab to learn more.
